Artist Biography

Eleny Shai™ is a visionary Dominican Pop artist whose music seamlessly merges psychology and personal experiences, creating a unique sound that inspires self-love and positivity. Born in the Dominican Republic, Eleny's musical journey began passively at the age of eight while she was still in middle school. Her first notable performance aired nationally, captivating audiences as she performed two selected covers during a Father's Day regional event.

During her early years, Eleny honed her talents through dance classes at Alina Abreu, where she studied Classical Ballet, and participated in musical theater at AFA. Her passion for music blossomed as she engaged in school choir, vocal lessons, and music theater electives throughout middle school. At just 13 years old, she made her mark as a music and lyric arranger for the prestigious national contest Temas Musicales Sobre la Constitución Dominicana,  where she contributed her creative talents.

In high school, Eleny embraced her leadership skills in choreography, mentoring younger students for various performances. Her first ticketed concert took place on August 23, 2017, showcasing popular covers. This event marked a turning point as she began writing her own songs and diving into music technology. At 17, she organized her inaugural live show, Expect the Unexpectable, to fundraise for her class's post-graduation event, featuring a mix of comedy and musical performances.

Eleny’s pursuit of higher education brought her to the Community College of Philadelphia, where she specialized in Music Performance during the COVID-19 pandemic. This period was transformative, as she perfect her English linguistic skills, revisited her performance techniques, and significantly expanded her knowledge of music theory and technology.

In February 2023, Eleny reignited her performing career as part of the cover band “Bonita Parade,” focusing on the vibrant nightlife of the Philadelphia area. Simultaneously, she collaborated with the Rock Metal Band “YokoRsh” to work on her original EP. Her writing prowess has led her to participate in urban projects for local artists, as well as engage in Latin-based collaborations. She celebrated the release of her first single on March 10, 2023, with renowned producer JOX, while the album “End to the Empire” by “YokoRsh” debuted on May 17, 2024.

Graduating with a degree in Psychology, Eleny turned her personal struggles with depression and her Highly Sensitive Personality into a mission: to make mental health awareness more accessible through her music. Her passion culminated in the debut of her first solo album, “Spiraling to You,” on January 3, 2025, following the impactful release of her single “We Are Our Destiny.”
